ABOUT THE FILM
ANIMATIC
An animatic is a series of still frames and
bits of animation played in temporal sequence in order to
approximate the way the finished film will run. I drew the
frames of my storyboard on little index cards (so's I could
change the sequence if I wanted to), then used a cheap-ass
digital camera to snap them all. Then I imported the pictures
into Flash, laid them out in something like the right timing
and exported the thing as a video file. Then I recorded a
shoddy version of the sound and dialogue while flipping through
the storyboard cards. I transferred this audio onto the computer
and cut it to the video file. That's how the original animatic
was done. And here it is.
