ABOUT THE FILM
PRODUCTION NOTES
There is a secret world called AIM which lies
hidden in the heart of Melbourne. Giants roam in this world,
scratching themselves and muttering things like "render
time", and "targa". Occasionally, several giants
will gather in one spot and kick a small bag of plastic pellets
at each other. Some say it is a game of skill, others call
it "repressed sexual tension".
And that is how animation is made.
AIM stands for Animation & Interactive Media.
The department of Animation & Interactive Media at RMIT
University is run by strange, mystical beings called David,
Robyn, Jeremy, John and Rhonda. The AIM department runs a
graduate-diploma course, which is where I produced Shit
Party. It took quite a long time. Sometimes I didn't leave
until late. Sometimes Jeremy didn't leave at all.
People have asked me, "What's the hardest
part of making an animated film?" Surely the answer would
have to be, "Trying to get stuff done with giants like
this around."

"Aaaaaaaah! Flash in me eye!"
FYI, Shit Party was largely made
on a mid-range Windows PC, using Macromedia
Flash 4 and a Wacom
tablet. Any further technical info would be boring and
pointless, I think.
